Carolina Robino is a Senior Program Officer at the International Development Research Center of Canada (IDRC). She works in Montevideo, at the IDRC Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Her areas of interest include poverty and inequality, labor markets, financial inclusion, and the economic empowerment of women and youth. She also works on the role of companies and social innovation as a tool for the inclusion of women and young people. Before joining IDRC, she worked as a researcher and visiting professor in the Department of Development Studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa.
She has a degree in Economics from the University of the Republic of Uruguay; Master in Latin American Social and Political Studies from the Alberto Hurtado University of Chile, and PhD in Development Studies from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
