Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Department of Environment and Economics of the Institute for Research in Natural Sciences and Technology (Iarna) of the Rafael Landívar University. The research processes under his coordination are framed in the fields of ecological economics, political ecology, agroecology and food and nutritional security.

He considers that it is essential to seek alternative development approaches that preserve and improve socio-ecological systems, and promote the construction of new relationships between people, and between them and their environment. From his point of view, regenerative approaches present an interesting potential, still to be understood and evaluated, to propose ways to move towards this horizon.
