Ricardo Fort is an Economist, with a Master's Degree in Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a PhD in Economic Development from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He currently works as a Principal Investigator in the Development Analysis Group-GRADE, from where he works on projects that seek to understand and promote various options for inclusive and sustainable development in the rural territories of Latin America and the global south.
In recent years he has been a Visiting Researcher at the University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands and the University of Chicago in the United States. He is the author of several books and academic articles on these subjects, and has worked as a consultant for institutions such as the World Bank, United Nations, FAO, Inter-American Development Bank, IFAD, among others.
